Answers: Where have I heard that?

We shall begin posting answers from now after every question with a gap of 3 days to 1 week at a maximum. Provided below are the answers to some of the questions that have been asked before

Question : Although the origin of this phrase is based on an alteration of an older form, it is supposed to have come from poker. In poker, to gain entry to play a round you have to make a small bet called an ‘ante’. Two bits made an ante (two bits = 1 quarter). This analogy was used in common literature and has led to something we say which is expected to allow us gain entry into a conversation. What phrase?

Answer : The phrase is 'Here is my 2 cents' that people often say when they provide their opinion in a conversation that has been going on. Like the 2 bits that need to be played in poker to play the round or stay in the round, we often say 'Here is my 2 cents' to become a part of the conversation's active members
